fourthousandblackbirds

fourthousandblackbirds is the new solo project of French experimentalist Albérick (.cut) based in Montreal, Quebec. After founding the collaborative project .cut 20 years ago, Albérick felt it was the right time to start something more personal.

The essence of fourthousandblack birds is definitely analogue and organic. Current inspirations are nature taking over mankind, animal rights, abandoned buildings, empty cities in the morning...

Since 1995, Albérick has released over 50 records on labels from France, Canada, USA, Switzerland, Japan, Israel, French Polynesia and performed live exhaustively in France, Canada, Switzerland, Belgium, UK, and USA . Notable performances include Pop Montreal International Music Festival, Nuit Blanche Festival, Musée D'art Contemporain De Montreal, Musique Plus...

Albérick is also a founding member of the droning ambient electronics project Montreal Nintendo Orkestar and of the psychedelic noise trio Thee Virginal Brides (Canada / Israel / USA).

In september 2012, fourthousandblackbirds was selected as part of the 60x60 Canada Mix 2012, comprised of composers, musicians and sound artists coordinated by James Finnerty.
